The way in which we process music in the brain is in the regions of emotion and memory. Therefore, if a certain song is able to cause an emotional effect the person is most likely applying a type of memory encoding to the song, almost like a reliving of a past moment in which they felt joy, pleasure, excitement or even pain and sadness.Unfortunately, some forms of music can influence children in negative ways. It is well known that music has a power to influence the way we dress, think, speak, and live our lives. Profane and violent lyrics can have a negative influence on the lives of humans.It is of this reason that we need gospel music genre in our society.
Ghanaian gospel artist, Maame Nyarko, from Murder Track Record, is of the believe that gospel is the right music genre in our modern society. She believes gospel is the only music genre that can help change the negativities of our youths and kids in the society.
She said this in her interaction with Bedmedia.
