Even if my marriage went left, I would never go for a younger guy and here is why

Gospel singer Emmy Kosgei has finally addressed the burning question on why she decided to marry an elderly Nigerian man.

Kosgei first met her husband Pastor Madubuko at a conference in Kenya, and the two instantly hit it off, only to be married in 2013.

The marriage came with massive criticism from Kosgei’s gospel fans who criticized her for marrying a man whom they had a significant age gap.

A year ago, the “Ololo” singer had revealed that he fell for the Pastor because he “understands my music, he respects the people’s love for me and he has always supported me.”

In a recent interview with Kalekye Mumo, however, Kosgei came clean on why she would never have considered a guy her age or younger when going for a spouse.

According to the singer, younger guys came with far more baggage than the controversy that came with a wealthy Nigerian Pastor.

“Tufiakwa! (God forbid!) No way (I can’t marry a younger man if I divorce). They come with their own problems and where I have gone now (high) is a big gap ooh…My husband has got me he loves me.” She said.

The singer ultimately moved to Nigeria after her marriage to settle in with her new beau.
